My time in the Department of General Medicine
The internship expanded my practical medical knowledge with many diseases I had never seen before, such as Kikuchi disease, PRES, Calcium deposition disease, and Trousseau syndrome. I also learned how to distinguish between SAPHO syndrome and Thoracic outlet syndrome. However, it was not just about the factual side. The mentors taught me a great deal about empathetic approach to patients, and the importance of seeing the person as a whole.
